Dear users,

In line with our policy of offering an up-to-date product at the best price—while maintaining special terms for our existing customers, we are pleased to announce that the new version, Machines Simulator v.5, is now available for download.

This version is completely free for users of version v.4; there is no additional cost for those who already hold licenses for the previous version.

What new features does the new version include?

New Features & Characteristics:
- New optimized graphics engine, achieving greater hardware efficiency and higher refresh rates and FPS compared to the previous version.
- Now Machines Simulator v.5 it is compatible with DX12 and DX11.
- New editor interface, redesigned hierarchy, component library, UDC panels, and properties panels. Now property grid has collapsible panels and help info for each component property. The values of the Vector3 property can be changed directly from the grid control by dragging with the mouse.
- Components can be hidden from the Hierarchy Tree.
- User Defined Components will appear in the properties panel as standard components.
- When creating a new UDC, it is not necessary to exit the Editor for it to appear in the library.
- New gizmo in the editor for extrusion mode, you can create multiple components connected to each other, copying their properties.
- New context menu for components when double-clicking with the right mouse button.
- New component selection system using precise vertex detection. Selected components utilize a new outliner system that reveals hidden parts.
- New Entity component, which replaces the Static, Dynamic, Plane and Model components.
- Workparts and Entities can have dynamic collisions.
- Machines Simulator 5 no longer supports MS Lite.
- Machines Simulator now supports a wide variety of 3D model formats: obj, fbx, gltf, glb, dae, x, mdl, md2, pk3, mdc, md5mesh, q3o, q3s, raw and machsim
- Machines Simulator Professional supports more 3D model formats: stl, 3ds, ase, lwo, lxo, c4d, ms3d, 3mf, xml, bvh, ase, ply, ifc, iqm, nff, smd, vta, ac, ac3d, off, ter, ogex, ms3d, lws, xgl
- Editor Mode: from the hierarchy tree, components can be selected using the cursor keys.
- Improved component copy/paste system; parent/child hierarchies are now respected when copying each component
- New effect when destroying WorkParts with a dissolution effect.
- New 3D Model Editor tool, is possibly create models and/or edit existing ones, whether from the library or imported (with the possibility of exporting to obj/fbx in the professional version). It also includes a rigging tool for generating model animations using bones.
- New movement mode for components: in the editor, pressing the left shift key moves the components while respecting collisions between components.
- Now in the Modbus server driver, you can now add the server ID (0, 1).
- Two new robots (Generic Robot and Cobot3) have been added with more realistic IK, and the ability to move the robots using custom programs as in real systems.
- New component for creating robots according to the parameters supplied by the manufacturers, with the new IK system and robot command programming.
- New Follower component to create complex movements in aligned parts (cylinders connected to other components or similar).
- Two new Special effects in SpecialFX container: WaterStream ann WaterJet to simulate more fluid effects.
- New conveyors in library
- New Stacker2 component
- New CNCCutter Special Effect which allows for the modification of model meshes to simulate cutting by a CNC tool.
- New Spring component for creating physics-based movements using coil-type springs.
- New factory scene with high-resolution lighting.
- New components with procedural management: roller conveyors, belts, machines, factories, etc. that will be fully customizable.
- New component Decal Projector to project decals in other components.
- WorkPartDestructor: now is possible to select UDCs to be destroyed.
- Now Machines Simulator v.5 supports a new floating server licensing system for the Server License users.
- New driver for MQTT communication protocol

Bugs Solved:
- ModBus Server Driver: Analog Scale Factor and Analog Subtract Factor parameters was applied only to analog inputs, now also to analog outputs.
- OPC UA Driver: in some configurations, PLC digital outputs needs an external OPC UA client to be readed, now the driver is corrected and works correctly.

You can update directly from within Machines Simulator by selecting from the main menu: Settings -> General -> Check Updates button.
