The following explains the methodology that USB license users must follow to update to a new version of Machines Simulator.

METHOD 1 (preferred)

Once you have downloaded the installer for the new version of M.S, it is a zip compressed file, unzip it and copy these files, usually consisting of the following ones:

- Machines Simulator X.y.z setup.exe
- Machines Simulator X.y.z setup-1.bin
- Machines Simulator X.y.z setup-2.bin

In the following path of your USB Drive:

X:\EasyPLC Software Suite\

where 'X' is the drive of your USB key assigned by Windows.

(It is recommended that you delete the installation files from the previous version of M.S.)
Once all the files are copied, install M.S. directly from you USB Key, executing the file Machines Simulator X.y.z setup.exe.

The installation process will then begin, and the license file will be successfully transferred from your USB key to your local hard drive in the selected program installation location.

METHOD 2

Download the installer for the new version of M.S, it is a zip compressed file, unzip it and copy these files, usually consisting of the following ones:

- Machines Simulator X.y.z setup.exe
- Machines Simulator X.y.z setup-1.bin
- Machines Simulator X.y.z setup-2.bin

to any location on your local hard drive. Then start the installation executing the file Machines Simulator X.y.z setup.exe.
Once is finished, go to your USB Key and copy the file:

X:\License.lcs (where 'X' is the drive of your USB key assigned by Windows)

in the path where you have installed M.S.
(for instance, this is the path where is installed by default C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 4\License.lcs)
