Hello,

im trying to make a TCP communication (via 127.0.0.1:502) test between the ModBus driver that comes with EasyPLC and Wonderware's DASMBTCP Modbus Utility (which is set to receive data in the same IP address), all in the same machine (localhost).  Now whenever i try to establish connection between my ModBus driver in EasyPLC the connection it's rejected with this message (in spanish):

El equipo de destino denegó expresamente dicha conexión (127.0.0.1:502).

Destination system denied the connection (127.0.0.1:502)

I've tested DASMBTCP with a Modbus simulator that shares my EasyPLC driver configuration in the past and it worked fine. Also i tried deactivating the firewall but it keeps denying the connection...

What could be the reason?

Hello!
We usually use this driver with a lot of ModBus compatible devices and don't have problems, perhaps you have an error with IP address and ports (besides being using the same physical device).
I recommended you to download the free ModBus simulation software available in the http://www.plcsimulator.org website to test the communications with EasyPLC and with your device or the other software.
For instance, I show you the parameters we have configured to communicate EasyPLC and the MODBUS Simulation software via FTP on the same PC (view images)

Hope this helps you!

The test that i ran in the past (which i exposed before in the initial post) was made with the tool from www.plcsimulator.org, and as i reported it did the job correctly with no errors...

Could it be because of my OS? Im running EasyPLC and Wonderware's ecosystem in Windows Server 2012 R2 ( the one that look like W8 )

To be sure if it's possible to do what im trying to do i'll explain what i'm developing, because i've looked for tutorials for doing something like it and didn't found anything...

My aim is to create an entirely simulated industrial ecosystem based on a Windows Server 2012 R2 virtual machine running on VMWare (which runs on my host computer whit W10 on it), of course what i want to simulate is the activity of the machines, in other words, how the I/O signaling change. This ecosystem is based on 2 great elements:

1 -  EasyPLC: I want this part to simulate the I/O signaling change by creating a program, for example a filling tank. This means i'll have, for instance and to make it simple, 3 analog inputs meaning the tank level, liquid temperature and liquid flow, 1 digital inputs that indicates if the exit valve of the tank is open or closed, and 1 digital output for opening the valve. This program can be done in Grafcet, ST, ladder... that's not relevant (in my case i'm doing it on ST or Grafcet). Apart from that, i want EasyPLC to deliver and receive this I/O signals trough an I/O Device (Modbus in this particular case).

2 - Wonderware's suite: This industrual software suite is composed by:

     (1) DASMBTCP, which is the Modbus door to the SCADA (is configured to listen on 127.0.0.1:502)

     (2) The rest of the suite consisting on an SCADA IDE, HMI...

Wonderware only listens/answers EasyPLC with the signals sent/received through DASMBTCP (Modbus).

The key of this is that all of the data is going to be simulated by EasyPLC, this means i have no physical PLC, no Arduino, no sensors, no nothing but the PC in which im running the VM and the software that's inside (virtual PLC, program, etc...).

Is possible to do this with EasyPLC?

Dear Mugamoga

Unfortunately, Nirtec can not provide support for products beyond our reach or on third-party software, such as the case of Wonderware's suite.
EasyPLC uses the standat ModBus protocol communication, we do not know the causes why it does not communicate with that software, in addition to the difficulty of working in a virtualized system (VMWare) where it is possible that IP addresses should be redirected within the virtual machine.

Regards.
