Instructions to connect TwinCAT 3?

I was wondering what steps I need to take to connect Machines Simulator to TwinCAT.  Also, do I need a TwinCAT PLC or can I just use the local TwinCAT logic simulator that runs on my computer?

You can connect with the TwinCAT simulator without need a PLC.

a little old, but valid for the TwinCAT part, you will see the steps to configure the driver and TwinCAT. Now with the current version of MAchines SImulator, you can make the connection directly without having to use EasyPLC as an interface, just select the TwinCAT communication driver in Machines SImualtor and follow the same configuration steps shown in the video.
