This procedure is explained in the Machines Simulator Instruction Guide.pdf, however, due to the number of questions on this topic, we have opened this thread on the forum.
These are the instructions for upgrading from your old MS version 4 to the new v.5.
In the main menu of MS 4 select SETTINGS:

On the GENERAL tab, scroll to the bottom of the section and click the CHECK UPDATES button:

You must have an internet connection.
A .zip file containing the installer for the new version will be downloaded.
Extract the contents and run the installer to install Machines Simulator v.5 (you may keep both versions if you wish).
Copy all .maq files from the folder:
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 4\MyMachines\
in the new MS v.5 machines folder structure:
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 5\MyMachines
Also for the User Defined Components:
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 4\UserDefinedComponents\ (also copy the folders)
in the new MS v.5 folder structure:
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 5\UserDefinedComponents\
The same for the media contect you hace added:
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 4\ms4bin_Data\StreamingAssets\MyAssets\
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 4\ms4bin_Data\StreamingAssets\MyDXF\
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 4\ms4bin_Data\StreamingAssets\MyMaterials\
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 4\ms4bin_Data\StreamingAssets\MyModels\
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 4\ms4bin_Data\StreamingAssets\MyTextures\
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 4\ms4bin_Data\StreamingAssets\Videos
in
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 5\ms5bin_Data\StreamingAssets\MyAssets\
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 5\ms5bin_Data\StreamingAssets\MyDXF\
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 5\ms5bin_Data\StreamingAssets\MyMaterials\
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 5\ms5bin_Data\StreamingAssets\MyModels\
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 5\ms5bin_Data\StreamingAssets\MyTextures\
- C:\Nirtec\Machines Simulator 5\ms5bin_Data\StreamingAssets\Videos\
And you will have the new version, MS v.5, updated with the content you have already created using MS v.4.x.
