Title: Slow Response Time between PLCSIM advanced v4 and Machine Simulator v4
Post by: vijeth.shetty on September 23, 2024, 06:27:38 PM
Hi ,
I am controlling machine simulator program using plcsim advanced , I have i7-6700k cpu with 16gb RAM  and 4gb vram . all the programs are installed in the main computer , no virtual machine  used .
When i run the simulation for 03 Box Selection machine,  the camera doesnt get activated on time , as the signal is fast time and turns off before it can reach the plc  . I am running the simulation in normal speed , the program works in slow motion OR even on EasyPLC if i run in max speed. ( i tried testing it with a simple piston and sensor , and the sensor doesnt activate the piston many times in a row at high speed) .
Is there anything i can do to avoid this slow response form the plc sim ?
Does anyone else have had this problem and found any solution ?
thank you for your time.

What CPU are you using in TIA PORTAL project?
How many I/O have you configured?
Have you experienced the same problem using PLCSIM?
Do you have any antivirus software or firewall installed on your PC? If so, what are they? Have you tried adding exceptions so that it does not monitor communications between PLCSIM and the Machines Simulator driver?

Hi ,
1. Am using i7-6700k cpu with 16gb RAM  and 4gb vram , on my pc .
2. I have 16 tags , 6 input 10 output tags.  2 sensor , 4 sensor ( 2 sensor per piston )
3. I have not used plcsim as i have dont want to use opc ua or easyplc, ( which is the main reason to use plcsim advanced )
4. I have no antivirus , i have added machine simulator files ( machinesimulator and ms4bin ) and plcsimadvancced( exe file ) into my firewall exception list . But there is no improvement .
i have attached the test machine, tia program and easyplc program .
( easyplc program works fine while tia program doesnt, the piston doesnt move for some boxes)
If you have any suggestions please let me know , thank you for your time .

So I  tried the same program and connected it to a real plc , and it still has the same problem , it doesn't respond to some of the sensor inputs . Hope I can find a solution .

As you can see in the video , the program is working for big box , the small boxes are ignored but when I slowdown the simulation ( for the last box ) , the small box is also recognized.

I don't understand your statement:

I have not used plcsim as i have dont want to use opc ua or easyplc, ( which is the main reason to use plcsim advanced )

You can use PLCSIM directly with Machines Simulator, without using OPC or EasyPLC, you will need NetToPLCSIM external program.
Instructions here, stating minute 4:10:

Please use this Siemens simulator in order to check if the communication speed improves.

Hi, I tried the video you posted above, and changed the starting addresses also ( from 0 to 2 ) . but no luck.
I think I will just program with keeping this in mind , as its not a deal breaker for me .
Thank you for the support and this amazing software , hope you have a good weekend :)
