Hi,
Im a new user of this software and very impressed so far. I purchased this software to test it for a particular use case which so far I cannot find a way to achieve. Could you please advise if this is possible ?
The use case is that I want to use the virtual PLC to control the simulated machine but I need an OPC UA Server so that I can monitor / control the tags from an external application such as UA Expert. The reason for this is I want to connect the simulation to an Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for demos.
I can see that the simulator supports OPC UA clients where you dont use the virtual PLC and use an external OPC UA server instead but I can find anyway of using the virtual PLC and exposing an OPC UA server.
Thanks
Kevin
Thank you Kev!
Yes of course, Machines Simulator has available a lot of drivers to intercommunicate the simulator with the controllers.
The Machines Simulator OPC driver is client, you need the OPC UA server to communicate.
Please take look to our YouTube channel where you can find different tutorial woth examples where you can see how to connect Machines Simulator using OPC UA driver:

Hi Thanks for the quick reply :)
I have already been through most of the youtube videos and couldn't see how my scenario could be support and if I read your message correctly you are confirming that it is not supported.
Is this something you would consider adding to your software in the future ?
Thanks
Kevin
If you use EasyPLC & VirtualPLC to manage the Machines Simulator, there's not possibility to use an OPC connection, due the simulation is managed by the control of VirtualPLC.
If you use a thrid party software (for instance TIA PORTAL, Rockwell Studio500, OMROM, SCHNEIDER, ...) you can do as you refer, due the PLC software will manage the simulation and also the OPC tags.
