Title: Editable Mesh Fix to a Element?
Post by: Hitn on October 12, 2023, 11:09:31 AM
Hello,

i have a little project with a round table who rotate by 90 degreese.

Now i like to insert 4 Stations who prepare a part at the Table
and for this i like to fix Toolplates at the table but there is no option to fix it with the element so the table rotate but the toolplate stand still.

If its possible to make it possible for the futuere? Or is there a other way to Fix it on a movable part?

when i use a dynamik part it works fine but the shape of the toolplate is easiert to prepare it with
a mesh.

Last question: If its possible to make the Mesh grid also editable like the Factory grid in the
tooloption?

thank you
greetz

Hi Hitn!

Sorry but I don't understand what you mean.
To fix one part with other, you can parent it, this will work for Static and those components that are not affected by physics. For dynamic components use the FixToElem property.

What you mean with Mesh grid like the factory grid?

grid: in the factroy options by the measure Tool you can choose the grid. I use 0.1 by 0.1 the editable mesh has also fixes grid lines how are Not changeable.

Fixed Elements: Like my exanmple the Tablet is a Static element and With an
Dynamit element it works that Tablet and the dynamic element Turn together but With a editable mesh it is Not possible so the Tablet Turn and the mesh stand still.

The grid you see in the Editable Mesh (E.M) is a texture in order to help to modificate it, of course is modificable, for this reason is called 'Editable' you must to use E.M the tools to do it, adding vertext or faces. Sure you will need to add more geometry in order to make it more complex, then use the tool Subdivide Faces in Faces Mode.

The E.M. are static entities, can not be moved or rotated of apply physics as Static or Dynamic components. Anyway you can make parent it with a Static component and actuate using this instead the E.M, but only for animation functions not physics.
