Post by: Ham on July 12, 2023, 04:55:02 AM
Hi all, long time reader first time poster.
have made a simple rubber belt in cad (designspark mechanical) and have saved it as a .obj file and put in the the streaming assets folder.
how ever when i add it to my machine it has an absolutely MASSIVE boundary box that makes it next to impossible to work with. just wondering if anyone has encountered this before and could help

Hi Ham!

Remember to use the proper scale compatible with Machines Simulator, you can try by rial and error, since each design software works differently.
If when importing the model in MS it is very big, try to reduce the scale of it in your 3D software.
You can also change the scale on the Static/Model3D component to suit your needs.

Also remember to reduce the geometry of the model, in MS you only need the model shell (Low Poly model) not the details as it can reduce the fluidity of the simulation if the model has many polygons, there are many tools for this, such as 'Decimate' in blender.

Hey, all just sharing what the problem was, design spark was exporting a much larger area then just the object, I imported it into blender then exported it from there into machine simulator and the problem was solved.
