According with the information by Beckhoff regarding the communication library used in TwinCAT to third party softwares:
The TwinCAT.Ads DLL is a .NET class library, that provides classes to communicate with an ads device. The class library is part of the TwinCAT AdsCommLib that can be found on the Beckhoff Supplement CD. After installing TwinCAT AdsCommLib the TwinCAT.Ads DLL for the .NET framework version 1.1(Microsoft Visual Studio 2003/Borland Developer Studio 2006) can be found in the directory ..\TwinCAT\ADS Api\.NET\v1.1.4322. A version of the TwinCAT.Ads.dll for the .NET framework version 1.0(Microsoft Visual Studio 2002) can be found in the directory ..\TwinCAT\ADS Api\.NET\v1.0.3705.
The directory ..\TwinCAT\ADS Api\CompactFramework also contains a version for the .NET Compact Framework version 1.0 ( CE).
Then please, can you check the version of the file TwinCAT.Ads.dll installed in your copy of TwinCAT?, I'm affraid the problems is due this file.
The driver TwinCAT for EasyPLC, was compiled with the TwinCAT.Ads.dll library (see attached file).

TwinCAT must be running before VirtualPLC.
1. TwinCAT in running mode.
2. VirtualPLC in Run Mode.
If you need to made modifications in TwinCAT logic program then:
1. Pass VirtualPLC to Stop Mode.
2. Stop TwinCAT simulation, and made the desired modifications.
3. Start TwinCAT simulaton.
4. Pass VirtualPLC to Run Mode.
